I share in the following pages my wholistic approach to horses and horsemanship as a now non-competitive rider. I have learnt and appreciated horses differences and specialities. Introducing the possibilities in each horse and rider as a team.
As a teacher of the Alexander Technique this work translates into self-awareness of our bodies, our restrictive behaviour and the ways we respond emotionally. Working with a horse can reflect this often unseen emotion. This can improve our sense of wellbeing and help give a sense how our emotion has been restricting our ability to move freely and think clearly.
As an Architect I have practiced 50 years on designing buildings that are enjoyable, that utilise sunlight, natural ventilation and the landscape to provide a warm responsive passive environment.
To experience spaces that are healthy and where we can feel stress free, emotionally well nourished, productive and happy whether it is a home, workplace, school or institution.
My life has been influenced by many things. One most rewarding experience has been living and caring for our horses. They have introduced an additional healing quality that I now embrace.
In this space with the horses there is trust and empathy. An experience that continually astounds me.
